Lucky You Workout!

Today is March 1! What a great feeling a new month is, I loved it this morning when I woke up and I could feel the beginning of a new day, it was cool outside, but, spring is making itself known! New beginnings! I hope that you all feel that same sense of renewal in your days and your workouts.

Today I will:

Breathe Victory,
Embrace Triumph,
and Live Boldly.
- more than yesterday,
I will REJOICE in what
I am and What I have
become. Discipline and
Dedication along with
Courage and Determination
made this celebration
mandatory. Life. Don't
forget to LIVE it.
from RX Star (www.rxstar.com)

Today is your lucky day! here is the workout:

 Thrusters and runs

Start at the fence with a bar.  Do 5 thrusters, run to the building, tag it, run back, you have 2 minutes to get done before the next set starts.   We will do 15 sets total!

Parking lot suicide...use the lines of the parking lot to run 1 set of suicides when done with the thrusters.

"Tabata What?"
Complete 32 intervals of 20 seconds of work followed by ten seconds of rest where the first 8 intervals are kettlebell swings, the second 8 are v-ups, the third 8 intervals are shoulder presses, and finally, the last 8 intervals are push ups. There is no rest between exercises.
 32 intervals total

These are my new favorite running shorts! I wear them every time I workout!

I found this little poster today and it reminded me of my own struggles to adopt true lifestyle change. Any diet can work, and a 'new' workout can make a difference...for the moment. But, I have learned that lasting weight loss and fitness can really only happen if there is a change in mindset about food and nutrition.  That has to come from within and usually comes with a complete lifestyle change.

Who do you know that has lost weight, sometimes even drastic amounts? Was it through a 'program', a pill, a diet? If so, most likely their weight will come back...because there hasn't been a change in the most important place...between the ears. Many of us, and I include myself in this equation, use food as more than just fuel.  It is often used as comfort or a part of mindless eating behavior when eating, consuming more calories than we even realize.  I am not saying that I have all the answers, because I struggle too, I am saying that if what we really want is to end the up and down weight/fitness struggle, we must first look at what we struggle with internally.Get Fit, Stay Fit, Be Happy, Lisl

Find your Strong Workout!

No matter who you are, no matter what you do, you absolutely, positively do have the power to change.

Do you check the blog and skip class on the days that they look challenging? Major props to those of you that show up ready to take on what is planned.  If you only work on what you are good at, you will never truly grow, remember that being outside of your 'comfort level' is what will make you badder, stronger, harder and leaner...and most importantly, proud of YOURself!

Hydration: Stay Hydrated, it is AUGUST in South Carolina...if you plan on working out you will be sweating so make sure you are staying hydrated all day!

What’s your LEAST favorite BootCamp Movement?

If I were going to ask you what your LEAST favorite BootCamp movement was, what would it be? Oh and as a follow up to that, what does "least favorite" mean to you... most despised, hardest, inflicts the most pain, boring, just can't do it, etc.?? For me... its a toss up between thrusters (inflicts the most pain), and Pistol Squats (I just can't do them)....or burpees...they are so darn hard!  Post your thoughts to comments below.....

"A WOMAN IS OFTEN MEASURED by the things she cannot control. She is measured by the way her body curves or doesn't curve, by where she is flat or straight or round. She is measured by 36-24-26 and inches and ages and numbers, by all the outside things that don't ever add up to who she is on the inside. And so if a woman is to be measured, let her be measured by the things she can control, by who she is and who she is trying to become. Because every woman knows measurements are only statistics and STATISTICS LIE." - NIKE  1994

Top 10 Muscle Foods

1. Beef
How: Grass-fed, hormone-free, basically as natural as possible.
2. Eggs
How: Free-range and eat everything but the shell. Do not fear the yolk, there are quality nutrients in there.
3. Salmon
How: Ocean-grown (not farm raised) as I like to call them.
4. Broccoli
How: Straight up, in a meal, raw, take them any way you can get them just as long as they aren't smothered in unhealthy processed cheese.
5. Spinach
How: Same as broccoli, Spinach now rivals lettuce as the base of any healthy salad.
6. Berries
How: Take you pick (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, etc.). They stand alone, go great on top of #5, and are preferably eaten fresh.
7. Nuts
How: On top of #3 or #5, all by themselves, nuts are a power food. Just remember that peanuts are at the bottom of the healthy ladder when it comes to nuts.
8. Tomatoes
How: In #2, next to #4, on top of #5, or all by themselves. Cooking tomatoes actually helps your bodyfs ability to get the most out of this fruitfs antioxidants by making them more bio-available.
9. Chicken
How: The forgotten healthy staple, preferably grilled, add some lemon, you know the drill.
10. Greek Yogurt
How: This one is my personal favorite power food. What would your #10 pick be?
